This was a great event located right on San Diego bay
in downtown San Diego. There were about 350 cars there from all years and
makes. If you got tired of looking at cars you could just sit and watch
the boats and ships go by in the bay. Besides being a fundraiser, it was
also a people's choice award show where spectators and owners were given voting
ballots allowing you to select your favorite car from about 25 different
classes. There were probably 10 to 15 cars in my class which was 1968 to
1975 customs. The 2 beautiful Camaros parked to left of me were
professionally built so I figured I wouldn't have much of a chance.
However, when the awards for my class were presented, I nearly crapped my pants
when they announced my ride had won 1st place. Regardless of winning
or not, the event was a real pleasure to attend. The weather and the
setting were perfect. I'll be back next year for sure.
